It would be unwise to let a loanee leave without a valuable buy-option clause in place. After a year, there’s no guarantee that his value will increase. Ten Hag has numerous options on the wings, so United might be better off keeping Sancho unless they receive an offer close to £40 million.
Though he may not be a regular starter, Sancho could provide valuable depth, especially with Marcus Rashford’s struggles and injuries to Antony and Rasmus Hojlund.
