On the final day of the summer transfer window, one Liverpool prospect is generating significant interest.
The addition of Federico Chiesa to Liverpool’s squad has strengthened Arne Slot’s already potent attacking lineup, potentially making it harder for a young teammate to secure regular first-team opportunities.
According to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph on Thursday, Liverpool has received at least seven loan offers for Ben Doak, with interest from both Premier League and Championship teams.
The club has reportedly approved the idea of a temporary move for the 18-year-old and is evaluating the best option for his development.
With Chiesa’s arrival and barring any major injuries in attack, Doak might struggle to find substantial playing time at Liverpool this season, making a loan move a likely better path for his progress.
Although he has only made 12 senior appearances so far, they have been with two of the UK’s major clubs, Liverpool and Celtic.
He was impressive enough to be considered for Scotland’s provisional squad for Euro 2024, although an injury ultimately kept him out of the tournament.
Doak has also received commendation from the esteemed Sir Kenny Dalglish, who called him ‘brilliant’ for Liverpool.
Dalglish’s endorsement, given the honor of having a stand named after him at Anfield, is highly significant in the football community.
However, after a lengthy absence last season due to knee surgery, Doak will need careful management from any club that takes him on loan.
