The English internationals, along with Kai Havertz, contributed to Mikel Arteta’s team securing their first win of the Champions League season.
The Gunners handled the challenge posed by the French club comfortably, with PSG managing only a few opportunities, including a long-range shot that struck the post in the first half.
As they prepare to face struggling Southampton on Saturday (3 p.m. kickoff), Arsenal aims to maintain their momentum and stay ahead of Liverpool and Manchester City.
This match against Russell Martin’s team is Arsenal’s last Premier League fixture before the international break in October, after which they will head to the south coast to face Bournemouth on October 19.
Following the match, both Rice and Saka expressed their joy by meeting McGregor, the former UFC two-weight champion. The 36-year-old shared various moments on social media, including an image of his Rolls-Royce parked outside a London hotel, marking his first public appearance since stepping away from the Octagon three years ago.
Social media captured clips of Saka and Rice enjoying their time with McGregor on the Emirates Stadium pitch after the 2-0 victory. A behind-the-scenes Instagram post showed luxury concierge Sam Morgan with Rice, Saka, and the UFC fighter.
In a post to McGregor, Rice wrote, “big win & a pleasure to meet you.” Arteta reflected on the victory, stating, “Everyone has to play a lot of different and hard games at home and away. We need to get accustomed to that.”
He added, “We need to focus on our performance and aim to win our own games, which we did tonight. Now we shift our focus to the Premier League.” Arteta acknowledged the desire to remain competitive at the top, which would reduce the number of games and improve their chances in future fixtures.
