Javier Tebas announce: “Barcelona is close to make a super signing”

Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, broke the news of Real Madrid completing the Kylian Mbappe deal before the club itself made an official announcement, despite reports from inside Santiago Bernabeu suggesting otherwise.

In a similar fashion, Tebas has confirmed that Barcelona is on the verge of securing a significant signing that will greatly please their fans, highlighting the player’s exceptional quality and impressive performances in the Euros.

According to SPORT, Tebas announced that Barcelona is nearing the completion of a deal for Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao. Williams, who has been shining with the Spanish national team in the Euros, played a pivotal role alongside Lamine Yamal in guiding them to the final against England.

Tebas confirmed that despite financial obstacles, Barcelona can finance the Nico Williams deal without facing penalties for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

“Barcelona is on track to meet the 1:1 rule,” Tebas stated. “Considering their efforts to significantly reduce the wage bill and financial leverage by over 200 million, they are well-positioned to ideally sign a player like Nico Williams.”
