Liverpool seems to be making significant progress toward acquiring Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, according to well-known transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano indicated that although Mamardashvili has agreed to personal terms, discussions between Liverpool and Valencia are ongoing, and a final agreement has yet to be reached. The transfer fee for the 22-year-old is expected to be approximately €30 million.
Mamardashvili, who is under contract with Valencia until 2027, had a standout season last year, playing 32 games, keeping 12 clean sheets, and allowing 34 goals. His market value is reported to be €45 million, according to Transfermarkt.
In Euro 2024, Mamardashvili further demonstrated his skills by making 30 saves, nearing the record of 32 saves held by former Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev from Euro 2008. His rising reputation is evident in his high valuation on Transfermarkt.
