Details of Mohamed Salah’s contract demands have come to light. The demands he is making in his negotiations with Liverpool have finally surfaced.
Salah’s contract with Liverpool is due to expire at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, indicating that he may be entering the final months of his tenure at the club.
The Egyptian winger has played a crucial role in Liverpool’s success this season, netting seven goals and providing six assists in his 11 appearances so far.
Given this context, Liverpool is keen to secure his future with the club promptly, and some specifics of Salah’s contract demands have reportedly been disclosed.
As per Football Insider, Salah is seeking a contract that would keep him at the Premier League club until the summer of 2027, when he will be 35 years old.
This news follows claims by Gabriel Agbonlahor that Salah has already reached an agreement with a club in the Saudi Pro League, which has presented him with a record-breaking offer.
However, sources have indicated that Liverpool is “not worried” by this development and believes they are still in a strong position to retain their star player.
The Reds maintain that Salah prefers to stay with Liverpool, a club he joined in the summer of 2017 from Serie A’s Roma.
Nevertheless, competition from the Saudi Pro League will be intense, as Salah has been a top target since last summer when Al Ittihad’s £150 million bid was turned down by Liverpool. Saudi officials view the Egyptian winger, arguably the most renowned Muslim footballer globally, as the face of a league that features stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Salah’s former teammate Sadio Mane.
While Liverpool may be optimistic about the prospects of Salah extending his contract, with both Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also set to be out of contract in the summer, they will undoubtedly want to finalize the deal soon.
