Liverpool Attacker Luis Diaz Has Said That Mohamed Salah’s Potential Exit Would ‘Hurt’ The Club. The 32-Year-Old Is In The Final Year Of His Current Deal, Which He Had Signed In 2022. “It Would Be Hard For Us And I Will Leave” – Liverpool Star Insists Losing Mohamed Salah Will ‘Hurt’ Reds, Makes Plea Over Egyptian’s Contract Saga

Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz has stated that Mohamed Salah’s potential exit would be a significant setback for the team. Salah, aged 32, who renewed his contract in 2022, is now in the final year of his agreement. Despite speculation about a possible summer transfer, Salah remained at Anfield, though talks for a new contract have reportedly stalled. Nonetheless, Salah has started the season strongly, scoring in all three of Liverpool’s games, contributing to their second-place position in the Premier League, just behind Manchester City on goal difference.

Diaz, who scored twice in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League, was assisted by Salah on both goals. In an interview with Telemundo, as reported by the Daily Mail, the Colombian player remarked that Salah’s departure would be a serious blow for the team:

“It would be hard for us and for Liverpool. It would impact us greatly. He still has a year left to decide, and it’s a tough choice. He always gives his best from the start. Losing such a key player would be very challenging for us. However, it’s his decision, and we respect that, but I hope he stays.”

After the game at Old Trafford, Salah hinted it could have been his last appearance at the stadium, telling Sky Sports (via the Daily Mail):

“I was thinking before the game, ‘this might be my last time here at Old Trafford’. No one from the club has talked to me about a new contract yet. It’s not in my hands; it’s up to the club. We’ll have to see.”

He continued, “As everyone knows, it’s my final year here. I want to enjoy it without worrying too much about my contract. Right now, I’m focusing on football, and we’ll see what the future brings.”

Since joining Liverpool in the summer of 2017, Salah has become a key player for the team.

**Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool Achievements**

Over his seven years at Anfield, Salah has had a remarkable career with Liverpool. In 352 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 214 goals and provided 92 assists. He has won every major title with the club except for the UEFA Europa League.

Last season, Salah added 25 goals and 14 assists in 44 appearances, marking the end of Jurgen Klopp’s legendary tenure as manager. His most recent goal at Old Trafford also tied him with Alan Shearer for the most goals scored by a player in away games against a single Premier League club (10 goals at Leeds United).
